... also very wise and provides meaningful insight when a situation arises.
There has been no turning point in the book other than Robert Jordan
getting his mission orders which is really the beginning and not a turning point.
My personal opinion of the book so far is good. I like the usage of language,
the way a character speaks, the lack of contractions, and where the story is
headed. The start has been good and I hope it carries through to the end. ...

It is quite possible that in an effort to hide the fact that that he was of a mixed race, he would marry a woman of questionable origin (www.ofcn.com). This would remove all doubt that he, someone of high power and importance, could possibly not be of mixed race, and not be as "pure" as everyone though.
Armand could also be in denial. He found the letter proving himself the reason his baby was mixed, in with letters Desiree wrote to him. It seems ha ...

... by candlelight, I
hunted for lice in the seams of his trousers. The lice
inhabited us. They imparted to our clothes an animation, a
presence which, when they had gone, left our garments

chased them away but with hope during the day that the nits
would have hatched. We crushed them with our nails,
without disgust and without hatred. We did not throw their
corpses -or remains- into the garbage; we let them fall, ...

... describes. The stories are bound by the fact that the magical things
they discover are unbelievable at best. They often criticize Paul for his
affection for a horse he should have outgrown long ago. No one would believe
that the rocking-horse essentially talked to him. Although the characters in "A
Very Old Man with Enormous Wings" believe that an angel is in their presence,
they have no idea what to do with him. No one had ever dealt with a spirit on
this level before.
As he rocked back and forth on his rocking horse, Paul had faith in
