A Trip To The Dark Side
Number of Words: 846 / Number of Pages: 4
... through grade school. After five minutes of discussing memories, praying, and then telling each other how much they would miss each other, a ship came out of nowhere. It was a black ship, very large and elegant looking. From a distance, it appeared to be a cruise ship. As the ship came closer, Steve spotted a name on the ship. It read, “SSDARKSIDE”.
The crew of the ship appeared odd. The crew all had burn marks over their bodies. “This is very odd,” thought Steve and Hector, but they figured this was the best they could do. A voice shouted from the ship, “Hello good friend. My name is Captain ...

... sports inside the bunk (and breaking three windows
while doing so), going weeks without showering, or with not going to sleep.
I soon realized that however insane these kids seemed to be, they were
not as unreasonable as I had originally thought. They just had to be given
suitable reasons or alternatives. And it was up to me to come up with these
reasons and alternatives. I knew that I could not adhere to conventional wisdom
while dealing with these kids, so I tried to be a little creative. I taught
them card games, which they ended up enjoying more than indoor baseball and
hockey. The show ...

Alone With Nature

... back into the foliage covered depths of the forest.
The sun is comfortably placed in front of the cotton candy clouds, in the midst
of the soft blue sky. The occasional bird soars through in a last minuet attempt
to catch a worm so it may feed the yearning mouths of it's young. The rough dirt
trail ends and you are brought to the base of a rock. Your feet reach for the
unfamiliar footholds of the high rocky promontory, anxiously scrambling up the
streaky pinkish rock ready to explore any new treasures that lie beyond you.
Once on top, you gaze down and see it all- the crystal clear stream brillian ...

you could see the bottom at least 30 feet deep. There were no rocks to cut
you at all it was just like the sand on the beach. It was lots of fun.
When we got tired we went back to the ship and got cleaned up for dinner.

Advice I Often Receive From Parents
Number of Words: 351 / Number of Pages: 2
... It gets quite annoying when I second guess
myself about what I could have done. However, when I know I did the work
as well as I could and it isn't a good mark, I don't worry about it as much
as some people might.
In conclusion, the piece of advice that I receive most often from my
parents is basically a good one, and often it keeps me motivated in the
things I do. It also shows me that my parents will support most of my
decisions and treat me like a responsible person. I believe that somewhere
along the line I will probably pass along the advice "as long as you did
your best" to my children. ...

... starts me getting recall of my friend, Angus. At a
time, my brain is working like a computer loading an enormous file. A picture is
appearing - a guy is walking towards me and gives me his saber. The saber is
sharp and shiny, it reflects an intensive light to my eyes. My eyes shutter
reluctantly. I see my school, my night school. I am glad that this recall is not
being erased. I remember that Angus sat beside me.
"Do your best. You are new to this subject. Everything here is brand new to
you. Don't worry. Just try your best." Angus held up his head by his hand and
murmured. His eyes were starin ...

One Afternoon

... Eventually he'd go back inside after he realized he couldn't find us, even though we were crouching behind the nearby pines at the edge of his yard. Still waiting at least ten more minutes (to see if the old crab would emerge from his door) Ryan and I would plan our escape route. A quick sprint down the road would bring us to our destination: the backyard tree fort. It was a plan. A decent plan.
The tree house was where we spent most of our time. It served as our very own private room and office. There we'd plan "attacks," brush up on our carpentry skills, and spend hours on end perfecting each ...

Creative Writing: "My House"
Number of Words: 495 / Number of Pages: 2
... As I continue around
the house I come across three windows overlooking the entrance to the house.
There are black shutters on each window. As the porch continues to the south
side of the house I am now looking over the Pacific Ocean. A huge eight foot
picture is facing the same way I am. As I look down and observe the ocean I
see two piers jutting out into the Pacific. On either side of the piers are
huge boulders protecting the coast line from erosion. The house's walls are
made of stucco and it has an old fashion shingles that are a clay color.
As I walk into the back yard I am surrounded by ...
