... differences and even presented
cards to the children nobody liked. That one day of love seemed to unify
the worst of foes through love and forgiveness. I could hardly wait for
that day to come.
As the night before Valentines Day had rolled around, anticipation
had escalated to an all time peak. Nevertheless, it was all set aside as
my parents once again started to fight. My brother and I were sent to the
car in the garage so that we would not witness them fighting. We knew the

... beans and beets, four eggplants, five bell peppers, several
herbs and a peach tree named Packwood (named after creeping under my skirt
once too often). Everything was going along nicely. Then we went on
vacation....
We came back to find a sea of green. Tomatoes covered everything. We
had to transplant two of the eggplants, and we lost the one with the red
and white stripes. Most of the herbs had disappeared. The peppers and
Packwood were ok, but we hadn't planted any tomatoes in that box. But the
tomatoes in the next box over were trying to invade it. Tomatoes overflowed
everywhere.

music lightly penetrates the air as the family socializes with each other. The
constant murmer of the voices, serves as a background for the music. My cousins
are running making their laps around the living room while playing tag and
laughing to their hearts content.
I hear a voice saying "My have you ever grown up!" I turn to my left and
stand up to address my complimenter. Grandma, awaken from her heavenly sleep,
stands slightly crouched with an antique smile painted gracefully across her
face. I reach out and hug her frail body. We both sit down and talk ab ...

... as an unwavering constant. But most importantly, they
were carried out slowly, and in the current times of speed and fast results,
it was very reassuring to be able to take time to go through the routines
which had been a part of Bradley's life for at least fifteen years, now.
Bradley savoured his drink, choosing to drink it very slowly, as if in
an attempt to slow down time. Bradley tried again to put words to the page,
typing away furiously (certainly the ability to type over ninety words per
minute helps when you have to write as much as he does), but his mind,
usually clear when on ta ...

We left the monkeys’ cage and went to see the elephants. They were wandering loose in an open area, which was surrounded by large deep trenches. Bordering the trenches was a heavy iron fence. The elephants had rough and mildewed-looking skin. Their long and flexible trunks were moving constantly begging someone to give them food. A boy responded and threw some pieces of sugar cane. One elephant used its tru ...
